Clear Your Cold Tea

In the last few weeks I've seen a huge increase in the people coming to the clinic complaining of colds and flu's. Luckily my regular patients and subscribers of this newsletter haven't fallen prey to such wind evils - as they followed the advice from the September issue and started to protect themselves from cold's and flu's and boosted their immune system.

You can also do a lot to boost your immune system at home - like this Cold Cure Tea! It's easy to prepare and I highly recommend drinking it on the hour every hour to produce a cleansing sweat which will help expel a cold and flu if you think your're coming down with something.

Here's how you make it –

Cold Cure Tea
Ingredients -

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 chopped scallion
  • 1 Tbsp. miso
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger

Directions –

1. Add all ingredients, bring to boil, simmer for 15 minutes.
2. Drink 1 cup every hour. You will begin to sweat.

During this time, plenty of rest and water are essential. Cover up especially the head and neck area. Do your best to avoid stimulating foods like spicy, greasy, fried foods and sugar, as these foods create mucus and will further exacerbate any cold or flu.

Again, at the slightest hint of a sore throat or swelling of the glands around your throat, come and get some acupuncture and make sure it doesn't get worse.
